Dyrene i Hakkebakkeskogen

The famous Norwegian children's book by Thorbjørn Egner from 1953 was just made into a stop-motion feature by Qvisten Animation and released this Christmas.
I came up with some of the very first design ideas. Egner's loose illustration style and well established characters should be recognizable, but they should also work in a three dimensional world.
The main character, Klatremus, was the first design I did and he remained pretty much unchanged all the way through to the finished film.
Here are some of my concepts as well as some reference sketches for the animators.
